My little brother got married. It was such a sweet day. I'm honored to call Melissa my sister-in-law and have her in my life. We both have two brothers so now..we are sisters! And they gave me my wonderfully sweet and sassy niece who I love so very much. When she tells on my kids she does it with a 'Jersey' accent. It's so funny. I could go on and on about her. I wish I could see her more often. She's so far away. Anyway, here I'am going on and on about Laney when this post is about Jimmy & Melissa! Here is a sneak peek of their wedding day that Son and I shot together:

Nolan @ 6 months!
I adore Nolan. I really do. He is such a sweet and loving baby. He smiled the entire time and laughed at all my sillyness!

Madison's Photo Party...
Madison had her 9th birthday party today. It was really so much fun! She had 18 little girls, mostly dressed in white and they were all so adorable! Photo Party's range from the Photo Booth to an actual 'scene' I set up. Audrey (Madison's Mother) is so creative so I had an absolute blast setting up this scene with my favorite gold chair! She had a great 'vision' of what she wanted and the girls were great little models!

Happy Spring!
I did a Spring shoot with the girls. We had a guest appearance by Ansley. That put the group to four that day. Ainsley, Ansley, Bea & Mia.
I know Shakespeare is so overdone but I really like this quote: "April hath put a spirit of youth in everything." ~William Shakespeare
Ahhhh, to be young and silly! I'm so glad I have the girls to shoot whenever I'm inspired. Thanks to all the Mom's who never say 'no'! Love ya, mean it.
April is a good month. We have a little birds nest on our porch. Four times I pulled that thing down with a rake and she kept coming back to the same spot to build it back. I thought I won until I checked by the front door a few days later and there it was - filled with eggs. Well, I couldn't take it down now! So now we have chirping baby birds by our front door.
So here's to Spring, warm weather and baby birds!

Ty, Race, Finn & Family...
So Maureen (Ty, Race, and Finn's mom) shows up to the photo-shoot all leggy and fabulous and I'm thinking..'I want to look like her when I grow up.' I mean, really..the woman has had 3 kids (boys at that) and she obviously has it all together. The boys look good, Mom and Dad look good - it would take me DAYS to get my family's act together! Anyway, they were all great to photograph and absolutely adorable. So much personality!!! Take a peek:

Halle & Aidan...
Dear God,
Please send me two of the cutest set of twins in the whole wide world.
Thank you. :)
Halle and Aidan dressed up in their 1st Communion attire for their photo session. My favorite part about the two of them is that you can dress them up but their personalities remain the same! They are so comfortable in front of the camera and Halle has recently signed on to be my new Artistic Director. She's got more ideas and every 35 seconds she's finding something new for me to do. It was so much fun.
Aidan told me he didn't want to smile because he's one of the last kids in his class to still have so many baby teeth. I just wanted to hug him and tell him how sad I'll be when he's all grown up and doesn't have any 'baby' teeth to show me.

Kayla, Camden & Family...
I shot Jennifer & Scott's wedding, gosh, I can't remember the date...but this past weekend they brought their crew back for some family pics! They looked GREAT in their shades of purple and Camden (their youngest) was so much fun! I had to smile each time I pulled up a picture of him. He's just so squeezeable! I shoot for emotion. I want to 'feel' the picture and I want to get goosebumps when someone lets me into their lives. It's such a quick glimpse into the love they share for each other. This image is one of those moments.

Drawers...
Blake comes up to me this morning and asks me to give him some drawers.
Blake: Mom, Why don't you give me some drawers.
Me: Drawers?
Blake: Yes, drawers. Then I can save up some money for some toys.
Me: I don't understand.
Blake: On Curious George he got money and saved it. He did lots of drawers.
Me: Chores?
Blake: Drawers.
Me again: Chores? Blake? Jobs?
Blake: Yeah, chores.
Me: Okay. What do you want to do?
Blake: Well, I can empty the dishwasher.
Me: The dishes aren't dirty. How about if you go and brush your teeth and I give you a quarter.
Blake: Okay!
This went on for about an hour and Blake made about $2.00. It took an hour because I ran out of quarters and started giving him pennies which worked out pretty good for me. I paid him to get dressed, make his bed, clean up Bruisers' toys. All of this..for some wonderful little pennies!
I had to pay him in gumballs for some Valentine's pictures:

The Giving Tree..
Remember that story? About the tree that gave everything to the little boy because she loved him unconditionally? I grew up on Shel Silverstein - loved every story and poem he wrote. Many of them, I had memorized. Now, Bea and I read Where the Sidewalk Ends together. I found a pretty cool tree stump for the studio and we played with it a bit this past weekend.

Midnight...
Yes, it was after midnight and I was standing in my front yard in my PJ's, with my stylish snowboots and my favorite green puffy coat. And yes, I was shooting over to my neighbors house. And of course, the kid across the street got dropped off (it is Friday night you know) and his buddies had to wonder...but the fog and the shadows from the trees from my neighbors porch light was something I just couldn't pass up! I would have ventured further down for some close-ups of the trees but then I would have had to explain myself to the Gwinnett PD...:) Lucky for me..all my neighbors know I'm a few french fries short of a Happy Meal.

Zuca Bag VS. Big Pearl...
We nickname all our cars..doesn't everyone? Anyway, my white SUV is Pearl. Pearl had an 'encounter' with Bea's Zuca Bag. For those of you not familiar with Zuca - you should check them out. I'm going to try and talk them into designing a cool and hip camera bag so I can toss the Lowepro...and here's why. Pearl (well, me) backed up, ran OVER and squashed Bea's Zuca bag. Nearly crushed it. I pulled out her ice skates with barely a scratch on them. I thought we were doomed to use the rentals! I couldn't BELIEVE the skates made it out of the bag. Whoever is in charge of design over at Zuca should get a raise...right now. Ice skates don't need that much protection..well, normally they don't. CLICK HERE to check out the Zuca frame after I backed over it.

Blake and Dead People...
Yesterday we are driving past a cemetery...and this is how the conversation goes:
Blake: Did they just pile all those people in the sand?
Me: What? No. They all died at different times.
Blake: Why?
Me: Because they were really, really old.
*Silence*.....
Blake: Are those blocks expensive? (Tombstones)
Me: The big ones are the little ones aren't as expensive.
Blake: Well, when we have someone die we'll get them a small one.
*and silence again* I don't have a reply to that one.
(I hope there is at least room for my name on mine.)

Brook & baby #3...
Brook is 9 months pregnant. I shot these this morning..before, during and after her contractions. She said she almost called me at 8am because she seriously thought she was in labor and wanted to get her maternity shots in before #3 came. Is that not hardcore??? She's my kind of girl! :) I really had so much fun with her today.
